The Forgotten Patriots Project focuses on the important contributions made by African American and American Indian patriots of the American Revolution. To date, thousands of Forgotten Patriots have been identified, and DAR researchers continue to uncover these individuals and their unique stories.

The Rockford Chapter NSDAR gives DAR Good Citizen awards to the recipients from all participating area high schools at a special program each February. The goal of the DAR Good Citizens program is to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. This year, 15 area high schools participated.
On the eve of our historic first virtual Continental Congress, it is a pleasure to share with you several of the highlights of the busy June meeting of your Executive Officers. Just as we had gathered to conduct business back in April, we convened via video conference for three days of meetings in order to carry forward the important work of our organization, culminating in our formal board.
October brought the gathering of our National Board of Management, and I am pleased to share with you highlights of a very enjoyable week that included meetings of the Long Range Planning Commission, the Development and Finance committees, and the National Chairs’ Forum. It was the first chance to come together to explore the priorities and themes of our new administration, and I am grateful.
DAR members continue to promote these objectives at the national, state and local levels. Over the past three years, daughters have provided over 14 million hours of service to their communities. Signal Hill Chapter NSDAR was organized April 15, 1972, with organizing regent Peterson, presiding. The chapter name was suggested by the Barrington Area Historical Society for a high point of land north of Barrington from which early tribes of Native Americans were thought to have sent their signals.
